Banks is a graduate of the University of Florida, and is a retired Air Force Reserve Officer and pilot. His experience includes service in Viet Nam, real estate sales and brokerage, real estate development and general contracting. Other self-employed ventures include restaurant ownership and management, mobile home park ownership and management, and commercial fishing and diving.
