Trey Carmack is a life-long resident of Columbus, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University. Trey's background prior to joining the firm has been in steel fabrication and machine shop services and industrial maintenance. During this time he was also active in property management. He has been active in many facets of volunteer work in Columbus where he has served on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce and the Miss Georgia Pageant Corporation and served as a member of the Civilian Military Council. He is a life member and past president of the Columbus Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) and life member of the Georgia Junior Chamber of Commerce and Junior Chamber International. Trey is a holder of the prestigious CCIM designation earned with a combination of specialized classroom training, and demonstrated ability in the field of commercial real estate. This designation is administered by the CCIM Institute, located in Chicago, IL, and is an affiliate of the National Association of Realtors of which Trey is also a member where he holds the Realtor designation. Trey has worked with a variety of tenants and landlords, buyers and sellers to include national and international firms such as Heckler & Koch Defense, KidsPeace International and United Auto Credit, as well as regional firms such as Public Service Cellular (now Verizon), Bethany Christian Services, Troy State University and Jones Welding & Industrial Supply. Local tenants include Greater Columbus School of Music, Judicial Alternatives of Georgia, and Columbus Customs collision service. Landlords and owners include local developers Jackson-Burgin Inc, Allen Development Group, the Muscogee County School District and the Housing Authority of Columbus Georgia as well as individual clients. He has assisted in the sale and leasing of shopping centers, office buildings, industrial space, land, apartments, development land and businesses. Recent apartment related activities include the purchase of development land for the Housing Authority of Columbus, as well as the recently contracted purchase of additional units for the Housing Authority. He also procured the contract for the purchase of 128 units in the MidTown Columbus area in 2008 and 2009. These apartments failed to close as the credit crunch came to bear locally. Other recent activities include the expansion of the commercial property management arm of the company to offer complete property management for two shopping centers as REO properties.
