MADISON, N.J. March 19, 2019 Coldwell Banker Commercial Affiliates today announced Grayson Powell as the recipient of its 2018 Halter/Case Leadership Award. Grayson Powell Sr., managing partner of Coldwell Banker Commercial Sun Coast Partners in Wilmington, North Carolina, was recognized for his business excellence and commitment to his community. Powell received the award at the 2019 Coldwell Banker Commercial® Global Conference in Las Vegas.

The Halter/Case Leadership Award honors the late Caine Halter, owner of Coldwell Banker Commercial Caine, and the late Ray Case, owner of Coldwell Banker Commercial Atlantic International, by recognizing an individual who embodies a positive attitude, professional aptitude and exemplary leadership.

With a commercial real estate career spanning nearly 30 years, Powell joined Coldwell Banker Commercial Sun Coast Partners in 2005. He began his career as a sales agent in Atlanta, working for The Griffin Company, and later moved to Wilmington. He was president of Landmark Commercial, Inc. for 12 years where he leased and managed industrial properties, office properties and shopping centers, many over one million square feet.

Powell is actively involved in his Wilmington community. He is President of the Board of Directors for Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity and a board member of Cape Fear Council, Boy Scouts of America. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Wilmington and a member of the mission team, having gone on two trips to build housing in Guatemala. He has previously been a member of the advisory board to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Powell is also active in business and commercial real estate organizations. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), North Carolina Association of Realtors (NCAR), the Wilmington Board of Realtors, the Wilmington Cape Fear Home Builders Association, and is a Certified Commercial Investment Members (CCIM) designee. He is a member of Cape Fear Realtors Commercial Alliance, having previously served on the Government Affairs Committee. He is a board member of Business Alliance for a Sound Economy (BASE), a 501©(6) non-profit advocacy organization that acts as a responsible voice and advocate for business and industry in southeastern North Carolina. Powell is also actively involved in the Coalition for Economic Advancement and the Wilmington Business Development.
