Coldwell Banker Commercial The Ron Brown Company Founded in 1953, The Ron Brown Company has been at the forefront of Victoria's growth and development for the last forty years. Modestly opening in an old service station in downtown Victoria Texas, Ron Brown started what was to become the area's oldest and most respected real estate brokerage firm. This was no accident as Mr. Brown dedicated his firm to being the leader in service to the public and in knowledge of the industry. The Ron Brown Company grew several times until locating on Navarro Street in 1973. As the company grew in size it became known for its expertise in residential, commercial and farm and ranch brokerage. It also became the area's leading appraisal company and Ron Brown was known nationally as an expert and an innovator in valuing real property. Mr. Brown decided to sell the company in 1975. He chose to sell to two of his associates whom he felt would preserve the reputation and integrity of the company. Lee Swearingen, who had experience in real estate brokerage, acquired the company in 1975 along with a partner who was an appraiser. The company continued to grow and by 1985 had doubled in size. In 1990 Mr. Swearingen purchased the interest of his partner as he made the commitment to focus entirely on real estate brokerage, development, and management. In December of 2000 The Ron Brown Company became affiliated with Coldwell Banker Commercial although it is still independently owned and operated by Lee Swearingen.
