Background
Joe F. Ross, a Kansas City Hotelier, has joined Coldwell Banker Commercial Fishman & Company as President of their Hotel Division. Ross’s experience in the Hotel industry spans some 47 years of owning, operating, and managing 55 hotels which included all major Hotel Franchises. His expertise in the hospitality industry permits him to be helpful to buyers, sellers and developers. Ross’s extensive career in the Hotel industry was the catalyst for Coldwell Banker Commercial Fishman & Company to create a hospitality division. Ross will be directing all brokerage and development transactions dealing with the hospitality industry. This will include interacting with Hotel buyers and sellers. He will also be responsible for new hotel site locations for developers and national franchisers. Ross is presently working with major Franchisers of Holiday Inn, Marriott, Hyatt, Sheraton, and Choice Hotels. He is presently negotiating final details for a number of properties to include two new Boutique Hotels for the Kansas City area. Ross has sold in excess of $30,000,000 worth of hotels in the last year and a half. A few of the most noteworthy properties include the Aladdin Holiday Inn in Downtown Kansas City, The Sheraton Four Points at the Kansas City Airport, the Marriott of Deer Creek Golf Course in Overland Park, Kansas, and Port Arrowhead at the Lake of the Ozarks. Ross was President of Grand American Hotels, one of the Largest Hotel Management Companies in the Midwest. He began his career as the Manager of the locally famous Glenwood Manor Hotel which he eventually owned and operated for 20 plus years. One of his favorite hotels was a partnership with Debbie Reynolds in the Debbie Reynolds Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ross was active in other businesses during his Hotel career one of which was being co-general partner and owner of the Kansas City Scout National Hockey League team, now named the New Jersey Devils. He was also a co-founder of a local bank and spent 12 years in banking. Ross was recognized as the Hotel man of the year by his peers as well as being President of the Hotel Association and Tourist Bureau. His vast experience has given him the knowledge to assist in all phases of the Hotel Industry for Coldwell Banker Commercial Fishman & Company.
