Michael H. Fishman is President of Coldwell Banker Commercial Fishman & Company, the seventh largest real estate brokerage and land development firm in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Active in the industry of commercial and industrial real estate brokerage and development since 1986, Mr. Fishman was instrumental in securing for the city of Olathe, Kansas the relocation of Foodbrands America, Inc., the largest Industrial Revenue Bond project in the history of Johnson County, Kansas. Additionally, Mr. Fishman was co-developer of Mid America Industrial Park, Lenexa, Kansas; Deerfield Business Park, Olathe, Kansas; the Southgate Retail Center, Olathe, Kansas as well as numerous other commercial, industrial and retail real estate projects. Mr. Fishman is currently the co-developer of Prescott Plaza Retail Center, an urban redevelopment project in Kansas City, Kansas. Mr. Fishman has served as Chairman of the Olathe Economic Development Council and a member of the Board of Directors of the Olathe Chamber of Commerce, He is also Past President of the Commercial and Investment Division of the Kansas City Regional Association of Realtors, a licensed real estate broker for both Kansas and Missouri, and a member of the Bar in both Kansas and Missouri. Michael attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. He graduated from the University of Missouri – Kansas City Law School in 1973. Prior to his real estate career, Mr. Fishman was a practicing attorney and partner with Kuraner and Schwegler Law Firm in Kansas City, Missouri, and later served as Vice-President and General Counsel of Associated Wholesale Grocers, Inc., a multi-billion dollar grocery wholesaler. With over 33 years experience as a lawyer, developer and broker, Mr. Fishman is an expert in property development, financing, management and investment. Mr. Fishman offers a solid understanding of the zoning, land use issues, municipal incentives such as Tax Increment Financing, and related legal issues. A lifelong resident of the Kansas City metropolitan area, Mr. Fishman is married and the father of two adult daughters.
